What changes the price of a jet ski rental

The type of experience

A free ride, where you get a jet ski and a riding area, is usually the simplest and cheapest per hour. Guided tours follow a lead boat or a guide on a set route, and combo packages bundle a boat ride with the jet ski time, so they're priced higher for the same time on the water. When you compare prices, check how much of the booking is actually jet ski time.

Where you launch

Launches near South Beach, Bayside and Key Biscayne compete for the busiest tourist areas. Launches farther north on Biscayne Bay, near Haulover, Sunny Isles and North Miami, are closer if you're staying in Sunny Isles, Bal Harbour, Aventura or North Miami Beach.

How long you ride

Most Miami operators sell rides by the hour. One hour is enough to get comfortable and enjoy the bay. Two hours gives you time to explore and take breaks, which is why it's the most popular choice with our riders.

When you go

Weekends and holidays book up first, and spring and summer are the busiest seasons in Miami. Booking ahead matters more than the day you pick, because popular time slots can sell out.

What's included

Before you book anywhere, ask whether the price includes fuel, taxes and booking fees, and whether there's a damage deposit. Two quotes that look the same per hour can end up different at check-in.

How to get the most for your money

Is a jet ski rental in Miami worth it?

For most visitors, yes. It's one of the few ways to see the Miami skyline, waterfront homes and Biscayne Bay up close on your own schedule, and you don't need any experience. If you're traveling as a couple or with a friend, one jet ski for two people is one of the better-value activities on the water.

How we checked prices: the market range uses the lowest advertised 1-hour price of 18 Miami-area jet ski experiences bookable online through FareHarbor, as listed in the Miami jet ski rentals directory in October 2026. Some listings are tours or boat-and-jet-ski combos. Prices change, so confirm with each operator.
